This is not a standardized factory-manufactured irrigation machine, but a mobile sprinkler irrigation unit independently developed and fabricated by local farmers based on their own field conditions.
From a professional irrigation perspective, this is quite meaningful.
According to the site information, this equipment can irrigate about 10 hectares per day, with a throw radius of around 70 meters. The total investment is only a few thousand U.S. dollars.
Why can it work effectively here?
The key is not only the equipment itself, but also the site conditions behind it.
This farm has a dense and well-developed water system, with canals and water intake points distributed relatively well. The equipment can rely on the existing water network to move between different plots for water intake and spraying. Under this type of field condition and water source layout, this mobile sprinkler solution has strong practical suitability.
However, if it is used on another farm, the result may be completely different.
Water source location, field shape, canal distribution, elevation difference, soil infiltration capacity, crop water demand, labor conditions, and investment level may all vary. The same equipment may not achieve the same performance under different site conditions.
This is also one of the most important principles in irrigation system design:
Do not only look at the equipment type.
Do not only look at the price.
Center pivots, linear irrigation machines, hose reel irrigators, solid-set sprinkler systems, drip irrigation, and even this kind of farmer-developed mobile sprinkler unit all have their own suitable application scenarios.
A truly good irrigation solution is not necessarily the one that looks the most advanced.
It is the one that matches the water source, field layout, crop demand, soil condition, labor availability, and investment level.
Irrigation is never a one-size-fits-all answer.
The right solution is always the one that fits the site.
